Water lava obsidian1/19/2024 ![]() Modpack Version world created in: 4.2.Obsidian occurs only where geologic processes create volcanoes and where the chemical composition of the magma is rich in silica. In comparison, quartz (crystallized silicon dioxide) has a hardness of 7.0. Fill the bucket with ONE bucket of water Obsidian is relatively soft with a typical hardness of 5 to 5.5 on the mineral hardness scale. The most basic Nether Portal frame is made up of 10 Obsidian blocks. Get a multi-bucket bucket from the More Buckets mod (bronze, steel, diamond, etc.) 10+ Obsidian blocks, OR A nearby lava source, a bucket of water, and an empty bucket for the lava You can also make do with just one bucket as long as you can switch it between lava and water quickly enough.I don't have much experience with the previous versions of SF4, so I'm not sure if it's in there. Because only the lava that comes into contact with water is cooled, the obsidian will create a wall between lava and water. Did this behavior use to work in the previous version? ![]() pour water into this hole (using the side of the obsidian). then break one obsidian block - there should be lava underneath it. if you dont want to descend into a mine your best bet is to find a lava pond in a plains or ocean and pour water over the pond. A bit more and I realized that obsidian would be made on "charges" that wouldn't empty the bucket, but if it did empty the bucket, it used both the water and the lava without spawning obsidian. you can use water and lava to make obsidian, but you will only get one obsidian block per lava bucket. When I used a bronze bucket to create obsidian, I had less obsidian than I expected.
